Tutorial: Creating GIFs with Adobe Photoshop CS6

See the GIF in my previous post? Want to know how to create GIFs?

First of all,

Add all the pictures you want to use in one window so they end up as layers and not in separate windows as pictured below.

Now create a new frame for each picture, so if you have 5 pictures like me, you should have 5 frames. And then toggle the visibility on each layer to suit each frame so you should have something like this:

I added the photos consecutively (but backwards, I don't know the word for that) so I made my way up on the visibility of the layers.

When you're done, just click File > Save for Web. Alternatively, you can also use the shortcut which is ALT+Shift+CTRL+S and this should pop up:

Just fiddle around with the settings until you're happy with the way it looks, save and you're done!

Easy, huh? Shoot me an or leave a comment if you have any questions or if you wanna share your GIFs/tips!

Happy GIFing!

The rest of my Brisbane Trip

I'm supergirl and I'm here to save the world~ But I wanna know who's gonna save me! Haha I kept singing that song when I was editing the above picture. Anyway, it was taken in Warner Bro's Movieworld! I wish I bought the cape. It's such a pretty pink!!! /.\

The first ride that we saw wasn't this one, but the Green Lantern. But this is the first ride I've ever seen that I said "NOPE" to. LOOK AT THAT STEEP CLIMB AND STEEPER DROP! Oh god. So, I turned my attention to the next ride (literally, the next ride I looked at was right beside Superman Escape): Batwing.

I've gone on a similar ride at Genting before, so it didn't seem particularly daunting so I kept telling Lai that it's all good, it's not that scary because it shoots up instead of like the ride at Genting which goes all the way up into the clouds and drops you after 10 seconds. Boy, was I wrong. I was not anticipating such a rush when it shot us into the air and I came down on wobbly legs. Lai looked like he would never trust me again.

Oh speaking of, when we went on Green Lantern, a girl sat down beside me with her friend. After securing herself to the seat, she started to cry and said that she wants to get off the ride! Seriously, who does that? She happily buckled herself into the seat and promptly changed her mind? LMAO. But that wasn't the best part. After the employees talked to her (and ignored her wishes - is that even legal?) they proceeded to start the ride and honestly, this is one ride I am never going to forget.

The little girl started screaming like someone was murdering her! I can still hear her shrill "NOOOOOOOOOO!!! NONONONONO! STOP! GET ME OUT OF HERE! STOP! I DON'T WANT TO GO ON THIS RIDE! NOOOOOOOO!!!".

Traumatized. For. Life.

I mean the little girl. I obviously think it's the funniest thing to ever happen to me.

Here are some foodshots I found in my phone which I neglected to upload to Instagram. Also, I only have like 10 photographs of myself and totally no selcas. HOW DID THAT HAPPEN?! HAHA.

Strawberries with frozen berry yogurt is yummy!!!

Overloading on cheese, not so much.

We had this awesome fish & chips near Seaworld! It is amazing. And fresh. I finished it all (and I usually stay far far away from fish & chips cos I think the fish is always stinky and blergh I hate it) and I wouldn't mind going back for more... Don't go for the crumbed one though, with fish & chips, battered is the way to go!

Also, look what I got from Seaworld!

I was really apprehensive about trying dirt, booger, earwax and any of the adventurous ones. I don't know why! It's as though I actually believe them to be what the flavors say they are! Just like when I was a corpse for a uni assignment and had to put fake blood in my mouth, I kept thinking it's blood and how disgusting it is for me to have blood in my mouth and I kept imagining that it's coagulating in my mouth even though it is really just chocolate with red food coloring.

Which reminds me, I never shared the video or blogged about it - although I did post a picture of a dead looking me on Insta... Anyway, here it is!

I think we did a pretty good job (group effort). :D

Back to Seaworld, we saw a dolphin show and they are absolutely beautiful. I kept thinking about Animorphs while watching them and remembering how they were always so enthusiastic about morphing dolphins because they were animals of pure joy.

They looked like they weren't performing for the sake of performing but actually enjoying every second of it.

How about that, a pair of dolphin jetskis! And then my cameras and phone died. If you want to know how I make GIFs, the post is coming up next so stay tuned by following me on Imotiv!

First stop, Australia Zoo

On the flight to Brisbane, I thought of my fleeting desires of wanting to be an air stewardess and then I thought of my brother. My brother, a realist borderlining on pessimist. When I was 17 he told me air stewardesses are nothing more than waitresses working in an aircraft. There was nothing glamorous about it. When I was 14 and wanted to be a model, he asked me why I wanted to be a dummy phone sitting behind a glass counter in a phone shop. While he didn't quite phrase it like that, the meaning was clear.

Girls care too much for appearances.

I am glad though, that he made me see shadows through my eyes which were gloriously blinded by the sun of dreams.

Isn't it funny how we often choose to see the best of things we want and close off our eyes and ears to the ugly side until it is too late and the decision is made? I guess it's always best to chase anything with both eyes wide open... But it is hard to force yourself to see what you aren't even aware of.

I actually wrote down the above on the flight, it went on and on, rambling about the crying baby and the man kicking my chair. I eventually tuned out the baby and stood up and confronted the man nicely. I used to always fight back by throwing myself violently against the chair whenever the passenger behind me so much as touched my chair but it never stopped them so I turned around and asked him politely to stop kicking my chair and he did! Kill them with kindness, huh.

Our first stop was Australia Zoo - Home of the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin! He used to be an inspiration, and I briefly wanted to be a zoo keeper. Hah. I was a kid of many ambitions.

Look at this koala! Sleeping and pooping at the same time! I stood there for a good solid 10 mins, just watching the poop drop from the koala onto the floor! Some facts I learnt from the caretaker:

1. They can only eat eucalyptus leaves, so if you're in Australia, make your backyard a home to these cuddly creatures by planting a gum tree (or as many as you can!).
2. Their young are unable to eat the only one thing koalas can eat when they first come out of their mother's pouch. They have to ingest a certain poop from mom which transfers a certain bacteria from mom to joey to enable joey to eat the poisonous eucalyptus! AHAHA can you say FYL?
3. The reason they sleep so much and look stoned out of their minds is because they get so tired digesting the eucalyptus leaves.
4. The eucalyptus leaves have no fats therefore all koalas have a thick covering of fur to protect them from the cold!

The caretaker also commented on how strong their musk is but I don't find them smelly at all! I actually find their scent quite fascinating. It's not every day you smell an animal that smells like a tree. And if you haven't guess it already, they smell like eucalyptus!

I actually feel quite sad for the koalas. I mean, how did they evolve into creatures so inefficient at surviving? I came up with this theory that animals are meant to go extinct naturally and make way for much durable animals but we humans try so hard to keep them alive. But then again, we are the reason they are going extinct at a much faster pace so I guess it is our jobs to preserve whatever animals are left. So please plant gum trees if you can... In fact, plant as many trees as you can! We're diminishing forests by the minute. Recycle and do whatever little you can to help our planet. And for god's sake, don't litter!

Look at this majestic animal! Forced to become zoo pets instead of roaming the wild and doing their thing. Their numbers have gone from ten thousand to a mere three thousand in the past hundred years. When I did a vox pop for my radio assignment, a girl I interviewed said that all animals belong in the zoo. Um, what? No animal should belong in a zoo. The only reason they are there is because their homes are being destroyed for us. Every, single, day.

It's quite sad to see animals in zoos, but that is one of the few ways to help them by giving them a sanctuary and to raise funds for more conservation work at the same time. And at least the animals at Australia Zoo are well taken care of. They limit photoshoots with the few animals they have to offer - koala, alligator and snake - to allow them time outs and rest. Furthermore, they take their animals out for walks for a change in scenery! They really do seem to care about the animals instead of exploiting them tirelessly like some other zoos out there.

This is their Africa enclosure. It's so large that I should've taken a panorama instead but the thought didn't cross my mine when I was there. But we joked that walking around the enclosure once would make anyone faint in exhaustion.

Hi guys!

I've made some minor changes to my blog including finally updating the sidebar advertising page which you can access by clicking the last banner in the ads section of my sidebar. Or you can click on the hyperlink above. Any bloggers out there who would like to exchange links, just shoot me an email!

I also updated the buttons for Sarawak Bloggers and Book Depository. Now you can see my favorite books in the Book Depository gif ad! :D How cool is that! I never knew that making a gif with Adobe Photoshop would be so simple! A tutorial on how to make a gif will be up after I get my Brisbane trip posts out of the way.

Lastly, I urge everyone to download and follow me on Imotiv. Not only is it a good way to keep track of all the blogs you follow, and provide you with security - knowing that it will not be shutting down (GFC, anyone?) - you will also receive notifications once someone replies to your comment! I think it's a great way to communicate with bloggers because honestly, who has the time to go to each blog they've ever commented on to check whether they have any replies? So Imotiv gives you the hassle free option of being notified on your phone!!! So it's exactly like chatting... In a public domain.

Here I'll leave you with a picture of myself with straight brows. Inspired by Qiu's post, look how pretty all the Asians with straight brows are!

I just look like a man. 蜡笔小新please! When my bf saw the photos above he totally LOLed. And my man seldom LOLs. FML. Maybe I should send Qiu a picture of me and ask her to k-beautify me so I can use that as a guide to draw my stupid, crooked brows.

Dinner at Sofia (Camberwell, Melbourne)

Sofia's Pizza House on UrbanspoonSofia is at Camberwell, a train stop away from Glenferrie. It's a rather large restaurant, with friendly staff and delicious food and cheap ice cream/gelato!

Feast your eyes...

Garlic bread with cheese. I think that this is the best garlic bread with cheese I've ever had. The crust is crispy and it's sooo fluffy on the inside! More like pizza than garlic bread but still delicious. AUD6.10 as entree and AUD9.40 as a main. I forgot which we ordered.

Bolognese spaghetti. Nothing special here. It's bolognese. My mother, your mother and everyone's mother knows how to make it. I have yet to try mind blowing bolognese.

Seafood linguine with cream sauce. Again, nothing special. The only thing worth noting is that the prawns and scallops are so fresh! I would probably never have seafood that fresh in Kuching. But you can't have everything...

Lasagna with bacon! I was really excited to try this because the word bacon is a promise in itself but it disappointed me. I could hardly taste the bacon and the sauce is the same sauce they used for the bolognese, but honestly, it was to be expected. Lasagna is just substituting spaghetti with sheets of pasta.

Ice cream and gelato at only AUD8! Look at that monster. It has 8 flavors, if I'm not mistaken. And for an ice cream lover like myself, it is a slice of cheap heaven lol.

The pastas and pizzas are within AUD16 and the seafood and steaks within AUD26. The portions are HUGE. Nothing was finished, except for the lasagna and ice cream because the lasagna came in a relatively smaller portion and I LOVE ICE CREAM!

Despite the food being just above average, I would recommend it for a casual night out when you don't really care what you put into your tummy as long as it tastes decent and is decently priced. When you pair those two with great service, I'm pretty much won over.

Dinner at I Spicy (Hawthorn, Melbourne)

Ok my life lacks any semblance of a routine. BUT I MUST TRY. And eff working from one end of Glenferrie to the other. We'll eat what we want, as long as its something new!

I Spicy is a thai eatery opposite Safeway. Its appearance is shockingly plain and if not for the large crowds, we would never have tried it and be pleasantly surprised!

I hate coriander and spring onions and shallots and always end up picking them painstakingly out of my food. Sometimes I let a couple of spring onions or shallots (I LOVE FRIED SHALLOTS) slide but CORIANDER WILL NEVER BE RECEIVED BY THE SAME GRACE.

We've actually gone back a few times for the same food such as pad thai (first), crispy pork in red curry (middle) - DEFINITE MUST TRY - and crispy pork with kangkung (last). Each dish is about AUD10.

i Spicy on UrbanspoonTheir crispy pork is without a doubt, their best seller but I think it could be crispier and more tender, but perfection is subjective! Aside from that, the food is really tasty and ranges from mild to shit your pants spicy so make sure you don't overestimate your capacity for spicy food because we all know what happens when spicy food comes out from the other end. :D

Review: b.liv sensitive salvation repair & rescue mask

"repair & rescue smuggles signs of cell regeneration into the skin's deepest layers - intensively healing impaired or damaged skin, while boosting skin renewal and cell functioning - giving it a leg-up in rejuvenation and hydration. Its soothing ingredients sing all irritations and sensitiveness to sleep - ensuring that soft smooth and healthy skin is yours to keep!"

Key Active Ingredients: Ginkgo Extract, Sea Fennel Callus Culture Extract, Licorice Extract

I love the texture of the mask. Adheres nicely to skin but prone to slipping a teeny bit because of the copious amount of essence!

It's a little too big in some areas, especially the mouth and jaw area, but other than that, I don't have no qualms with its design whatsoever. Too big is better than too small (I will never get over my aversion to Love More masks because they are so uncomfortably small) and it fits my nose perfectly!!!

After application, it warmed up a little bit so I suspect it's working its magic on my inflamed and hormonal skin. My skin gets agitated when it's that time of the month (I realized that I only use this mask once a month and only during that time of the month lol). Enlarged pores which lead to inflammation and blackheads. Oh, joy!

But the mask really does its job well, so well that I don't mind the lack of eyeflaps! My skin was peeling, red and had large pores but now it's less agitated (no more redness!), has minimized pores and smoother than usual! My skin is usually so quite dry and oily that when I use foundation/bb cream it enhances the little dry flakes on my face and increases oil production. Lucky me! Any solutions to my dry/oily skin problem is more than welcome! I have dry skin around my mouth, eyes and nose. Oily skin on my forehead and cheeks. BAH.

Also, be careful when unfolding the mask because I've torn a fair few.

The only downside about it is that it leaves a sticky residue as the essence dries. It's an uncomfortable feeling which gets increasingly annoying with each use because I use it right before I go to bed and I want to bury my face in my pillow and blanket, but can't because the stickiness disgusts me haha.

Will I repurchase, though?

♥ 030613

You know that shock, that feeling when realization dawns upon you? That's the state of being I am in right this instant - in shock that after years and years of preschool, primary school, secondary school, uni life... It's finally come to an end.

But I'm not one to make a big deal out of life events.

So anyway, I went to watch X Factor in April and Australia's Got Talent two days ago! X Factor had many horrible singers. I am still mentally cringing from all that pain my ears had to suffer, but there were some amazing ones. It's really weird, to go from LOLOMG to ZOMG in the space of minutes. One second you're laughing at the contestant and shell shocked into silence the next. There was two that stood out but me being me never noted their names. I was ready for Australia's Got Talent.

Aiden (I don't know if his name is spelt right but), a 12 year old boy who looks like a miniature J.B totally blew me away. When I saw him come on stage I smirked. I saw a douchebag wannabe and so I hoped in the heart of my heart that he would crash and burn horribly. But he didn't. He blew me the fuck away and I gave him a standing O for As Long As You Love Me. GOD.

Maggie (I also don't know if  her name is spelt right, maybe it's Magi who knows) is - I think - a 10 year old girl who danced like an angel. It. Brought. Tears. To. My. Eyes. Her acting was beautiful, her expression worn with such true sorrow. Her dance was fluid, she went from standing to prostrating to leaping through the air so seamlessly. I couldn't move at all, I wanted to cheer even louder for her than for Aiden but I just sat there, too touched to even clap my hands.

But maybe it's because of the song.

Edit/ I realized that some of my readers are unable to watch the original video from CrystalShwandaVevo so I uploaded it but it was banned by Youtube so here's a lower quality one. o.o
